Happy Friday the 13th!!!!

I'd like to wish you all a happy Friday the 13th! This is one of three this year.  Today I will most likely watch a few of my favorites in the series. In order of best to worst I see the original series as,

1. Part 4
2. Part 2
3. Part 5
4. Part 9
5. Part 1
6. Freddy Vs Jason
7. Part 8
8. Part 7
9. Part 3
10. Part 6
11. Part 10

What is your order?

I think it's a forgone conclusion that The Final Chapter is the high point of the series. Best cast, best production values, best gore, legitimately scary, Corey Feldman!!

I will always have a place in my heart for part 1, it was the first one I saw when I was little back when VCRs were still Betamax and the series was still very young (I think part 2 had just come out, but that was a long time ago so I'm fuzzy). I also love 2 because it had a great tone and the scene at the end where Amy Steele walks into the dark room and says "theres someone in this room... THERE'S SOMEONE IN THIS FUCKING ROOM!" that scene still gives me chills.

Jason Lives is just a riot from start to finish and A New Beginning is also full of great characters and a crazy body count (but little gore). Freddy v Jason was also really fun, but a bit forced I thought. Some great kills though.

Jason Takes Manhattan is a little too nutty, but I loved the creepy principal and once they get off the boat it's like so silly it's hard to watch.

Jason X is not scary at all, but it has some fun moments. Jason Goes To Hell is just awful apart from the first scene.

Part 7 is like a poor facsimile. The only good part was the sleeping bag kill.

Part 3 is just all around awful. The characters are terrible, performances are flat the 3D was done so terribly that you can't focus on most of the scenes, it's just painful. Its as if they just eyeballed the camera angles or something. Jason getting the mask was contrived and the nude scene is a rip off. My least favorite.

My 2 cents! But I LOVE talking about these movies. Even my least favorites are still ones I watch and enjoy.

    1. Very great list. I so agree with most of it with a couple differences.
